PART 1-DESCRIPTIVE
38. Cameras
(a) G.45B camera
A G.45B camera in the fuselage nose is controlled by the
master switch (63) on the starboard switch panel. The
camera operates with the recorder camera and the footage
indicator mounting (5) is on the port wall of the front
cockpit.
(b) Recorder camera
The recorder camera above the gunsight is operated by
pressing any part of the button (49) on the control column
in the front cockpit. The gunsight master circuit breaker
must also be on. The button on the control column in the
rear cockpit is inoperative.
39. Target-towing gear
When target-towing gear is installed, the hook is incor-
porated in the ventral tank and the target is released by
switching ON the camera master switch and pressing the
camera pushbutton on the control column. A micro-
switch in the hook mechanism automatically releases the
target if it rides dangerously high, providing that the under-
carriage is up. If the normal release mechanism fails to
operate, the target may be released by jettisoning the
ventral tank.
40. Miscellaneous equipment
A map case (22) (125) is provided in each cockpit. In the
rear cockpit there is a stowage (96) for I.F.P.E. goggles
(not normally used).
EMERGENCY EQUIPMENT
41. Hand fire extinguishers
Two hand fire extinguishers are on the decking between
the two cockpits. 28
