PART I-DESCRIPTIVE
CABIN EQUIPMENT AND OTHER CONTROLS
22. Access
(i) The sliding hood over the cockpit is divided into two
halves, each half being operated by its own handle (34)
at the forward lower end. The handles can lock the
hood in either the open or closed positions and may be
operated from either inside or outside the aircraft.
(ii) If required, both halves of the hood can be jettisoned (see
para. 51).
(iii) The rear hatch is released from inside or outside by lift-
ing and rotating the catch at the bottom of the panel on
the port side.
23. Seats
Both pilots' seats are adjustable for height by a lever (1)
on the right-hand side of each seat but the rear seat has
no such adjustment.
24. Cockpit heating
The control (41) is mounted below the instrument panel
to the right of the air-intake heat control, and is marked
PUSH ON, PULL OFF. A trigger catch must be de-
pressed before operating the lever.
25. Cockpit ventilation
Cold air enters the cockpit ventilating louvres (25)
mounted to the right and left of the front panel. To re-
duce the supply rotate the inlet socket towards the
SHUT position.
26. Direct vision panels
Both sides of the windscreen can be opened by un-
screwing the knurled nut at the top and then the whole
side panel may be let down inboard to rest on the coam-
ing. It should be pushed well forward and secured with
the spring catch on the upper side of the coaming.
