51. Hood jettisonning
(i) Both halves of the sliding hood can be jettisoned by pul-
ling down the handle fitted at the forward end of the hood
central stay. A similar handle is fitted externally above
the sliding hood to allow it to be jettisoned from outside
the aircraft.
(ii) Exit from the rear seat amy be made in an emergency
through the panel on the left-hand side which should be
opened by the normal means. If the sliding hood has
been jettisoned it is also possible to escape through the
rear end of the hood opening.
52. Fire warning light and extinguisher
(i) No engine fire-extinguisher is fitted. For actions in the
event of fire being observed or of the engine fire warning
light (14) coming on see A.P. 2095.
(ii) A hand fire-extinguisher is stored between the front seats.
53. Crow-bar
A crow-bar for use in an emergency is stowed on the cross-
member of the central crash pylon.
54. First-aid
A first-aid outfit is stowed in the rear fuselage on the left-
hand side. It is reached through a rip-off patch on the
bulkhead at the rear of the cabin, or through a similar
patch on the port-side of the fuselage.
