27. Amber screening
The amber screens are normally stowed below the wind-
screen. To fit them for use:
(i) Release the stowage clips at the bottom, slide the screens
up and into position and engage by the top catch.
(ii) Release the coachbuttons and hinge the side panels
round to cover the side panels of the windscreem.
(iii) Slide the canopy side panels forward over the front half
of the sliding hood.
(iv) To remove the screens raise the finger catch at the top,
having firast stowed the side panels, and slide the panels
downwards.
28. Windscreen de-icing
The pump is mounted on the left-hand side of the main
instrument panel. (It is not illustrated in fig. 1). Fluid
is drawn from a tank mounted on the aft face of the fire-
wall and sprayed from a pipe at the bottom of the wind-
screen.
29. Signalling equipment
(i) The identification lights can be used for signalling by
means of the "morse" pushbutton (44).
(ii) A signal pistol is mounted below the central controls box.
It is loaded and fired in situ.
30. Radio equipent
(i) T.R. 1920
The ON-OFF control is mounted centrally abcve the
coaming. PRESS-TO-SPEAK switches (27) (39) are fitted
on each spade grip. Muting switches are fitted, one (31)
by the central trim controls, and one centrally forward
of the rear seat.
(ii) A.R.I. 5386
The ON-OFF switch and volume control are incorpor-
ated in the control box mounted centrally in the roof
above the front seats. A muting switch (37) is on the left-
hand side of the cockpit and a tuning control is fitted
central at the top of the windscreen.
