DESCRIPTIVE
NOTE.-(a) Airspeeds quoted throughout this book are indicated airspeeds unless otherwise stated. (b) The numbers quoted in brackets after items in the text refer to the illustrations in Part V. INTRODUCTION The Prentice T Mk.I is a three-seater low-wing training air- craft. It is powered by a Gypsy Queen 32 engine driving a bracket-type, two-bladed constant-speed propeller. FUEL AND OIL SYSTEMS 1. Fuel tanks Fuel is carried in two tanks, which are not self-sealing. The tanks are mounted one in each wing, and each tank holds 20 gallons. 2. Fuel cock and booster pumps A three-position cock control (3) is fitted below the cen- tral controls box. The positions are PORT-OFF-STAR- BOARD. A fuel booster pump is fitted in each tank, and when a tank is selected its booster pump is automatically switched on. 3. Fuel contents gauges Two fuel contents gauges (22), one for each tank, are fitted at the bottom of the instrument panel on the right- hand side, and indicate whenever electrical power is available. 4. Priming An induction system priming pump (7) is fitted on the switch panel. A selector cock (not illustrated in Part V) is fitted on the left-hand side of the cockpit forward of the elevator trim control. When this cock is set to TANK, fuel for priming the induction system is drawn from the
