105. Composite photograph of the Station Church just by the main gate. This is Building 8 and although the records
claim it was built in 1936 the Camp Commandant OTL Joachim Linke tells me it was probably built by the British in
1953/54. Lofty Hope tells me that there used to be a building behind the Chapel and connected to it and to what is
now Building 8a. He believes it was an Annex for incoming families and it was burnt down which is why 8a is
separated by some distance. He says they were called out early one morning to help and can remember
carrying out books, etc. from the Church and other people bringing out items of furniture.
