OPERATIONS
The month was spent with normal low level training and a considerable
amount of night flying.
Three more aircraft were ferried back to Aldergrove by Squadron pilots
during the month and as yet no replacements have been received.
Flight Lieutenants A.K. Ibbett and J. Watson, took off for St. Dizier for
exchange N.A.T.O. refuelling exercises and had difficulty in contacting the tower in
rather bad weather. They made a Securite call and were taken into Chaumont with
very little fuel left.
Flying Officer A.G. Newing went to West Raynham for a month's
instrument flying and passed the course successfully as an Instrument Rating Examiner.

Social
A Squadron party was held at the beginning of the month at a local
hotel. A Skittles match was organised by Flight Lieutenant D. Ives and was won
by a team from the Mobile Field Photographic Section attached to this Squadron.
The Christmas tradition of building a bar in the Airmen's Barrack Block
was carried out very enthusiastically, the prize being won by No. 2 Squadron under
Flight Lieutenant A.H. Martin and Cpl. Bramley, D.S.
