                           PART 1I-LIMITATIONS

    (b) Maximum speeds and mach number limitations (see also
         para.64)

          (i) Clean aircraft

Sea level to 1,000 ft. 510 knots
               1,000 ft to 20,000 ft. 0.76M
               Above 20,000 ft. 0.78M

(ii) For raising and lowering 175 knots
                 undercarriage
               With undercarriage locked	195 knots
                 down

(iii) For lowering flaps No limit (relief valve
        					 in system prevents
        					 excessive strain)

For flaps fully down 150 knots

(iv) For opening airbrakes No limit

          (v) For opening direct-vision	200 knots
                 panels
         (vi) With ventral drop tank:-
At all heights As for clean aircraft
For jettisoning the ventral	345 knots
                  drop tank

NOTE.-Aerobatics are prohibited when carrying the
ventral drop tank unless the tank is empty.

(vii) With 2X100-gallon wing drop tanks:-

When wing drop tanks are fitted, aerobatics are pro-
hibited and speed is restricted as follows:-

                 From strength 435 knots
                   considerations

From control 0.70M up to 20,000 ft.
                   considerations 0.72M from 20,000 ft.
                                      		  to 30,000 ft.
						0.74M above 30,000 ft.

Wing drop tanks may be jettisoned at any speed up
               to 260 knots.
