OPERATIONAL.
The month of April has been the best flying month since November, 1956. The total hours
for the month were 430.25 day and 9.35 night. The weather throughout the month has
been good which assisted considerably to the total hours flown. In the early part of
the month the Squadron was engaged on battle flight duties and the total number of
successful interceptions amounting to 67 in the week's tour reflects considerable
credit on the controllers of 101 S.U.
Exercise 'Guest' this month found the Squadron engaged on Anti - rat patrols controlled
by the airfield G.C.A. and interceptions on Canberras, Meteors and F.84 F'S were made.
In the latter part of the month the emphasis was placed on cine exercises and a
considerable number of sorties were flown to this end. |
|
|
|
|
ADMINISTRATION.
Aircraft serviceability was good during the month and the only problems presented
were two aircraft A.O.G. for jet pipes for nine days. Two minors and two engine
changes have been completed during the month.
