     INTRODUCTION

     (a) The Meteor Mk.7 is a two-seat, jet-propelled, trainer
aircraft, powered by two Derwent Mk. 8 or Mk. 9 engines.
In the latter engines, the priming pumps and torch igniters
are replaced by high energy igniter units, which permit
relighting at higher altitudes and greater forward speeds.
The engines may have either large or small intakes fitted..

     (b) The aircraft is unarmed but may be fitted with a gyro-
gunsight and camera. The cockpit is unpressurised. Long-
range fuel tanks can be fitted, giving a maximum range at
altitude of approximately 780 nautical miles.

     (c) The principal aircraft dimensions are as follows:-
              Wing Span	..	..	..	37 ft. 2 ins.
              Length	..	..	..	43 ft. 6 ins.
