The month was entirely devoted to air firing, most of the month being spent on
detachment at Sylt. The squadron flew to Sylt on the 6th July and returned to
Jever on the 28th July. The results were quite good considering the
non-continuous training which was due to extremely bad weather conditions
for this time of year. Each pilot only averaged about seven effective shoots
and the average score finalised at 14.7%. The stoppage rate was the best ever
attained with the Swift being 782
