Hawker Hunter Serials 1951-2008
by David Griffin
David Griffin writes: "The latest edition is published. The book will only be available through myself or the publisher. There is a 700 page limit for the ISBN and distribution with this publisher and the book stands at 724 pages. That said, the only difference really is that all orders will be through the publisher at a greatly reduced price - which is all the better!
If I were to sell the book through Amazon the price would go up to 40 pounds, which is way too much. As it is, I am keeping the price more within the acceptable range at $40 (depending on the exchange rate, that's about 20 to 22 GBP)plus shipping. The book may be ordered directly through myself (I place the order with the publisher, but it costs the same) or through my storefront at http://www.lulu.com/rafohunter at the storefront you can also purchase the earlier book and, as they are published, any future books.
If you can't wait for the printed book, there is also the option of downloading the .pdf file of the book. It is a cheaper option than the printed book at $30 (or approximately 16 GBP) I'm not sure at this point but I think the download is in colour.
For those of you interested in the 30mm ADEN gun, there is a chapter devoted to the history and operation of the gun. There are also scans of Hawker Siddeley Review articles referring to the Hunter and a few of the blueprints that I have on the Hunter.
I do have a number of full size copies of the Hawker Aircraft Ltd. highly detailed cutaway diagram of the Hunter F.Mk.6 in 1/6 scale from the Fokker Factory in the Netherlands. The size of this diagram is approximately 8 feet by 2 feet. Pricing for this item is still to be established but will probably be around US $20 (approximately 10 GBP) plus shipping. This item will be available directly through myself only.
