      54.  Bomb/RP release and drop tank jettisoning
                    
     (a)  Bomb release and jettisoning
          (i)   The armament control panel (33) is on the port shelf.
                When the FUSING switch is set to NOSE or TAIL
                (as required), the BOMBS/RP switch set to BOMBS
                and the NORMAL/PRACTICE switch set as required
                the bombs are released by pressing the bomb/RP
                release pushbutton on top of the control column.
          
          (ii)  The bombs may be jettisoned in a safe condition by
                pressing the CLEAR A/C switch (See (e) below.)
         
     (b)  R.P. firing
          When the BOMBS/RP switch is set to RP and the
          RIPPLE (46)/NORMAL and SELECTOR switches set as
          required, RP's are fired by pressing the bomb/RP release
          pushbutton.  No jettison facilities are available.

     (c)  Inboard drop tank jettisoning
          When the bomb fusing switch is set OFF, both inboard
          drop tanks are jettisoned by pressing the bomb/RP
          release pushbutton.
          
     (d)  Outboard drop tank jettisoning
          When the OUTBOARD PYLON STORES pushbutton
          (at 33) is pressed, both outboard tanks are jettisoned.

     (e)  'Clear aircraft' switch
          When the bomb fusing switch is OFF, all stores, drop
          tanks or bombs, carried on the four pylons are simil-
          taneously jettisoned by pressing the CLEAR A/C switch
          (50), on the left of the GGS.
