Coverage of the Aurich celebrations by the local newspaper on Saturday 9th October 2010.

CELEBRATING 50 YEARS COMMAND BY THE AIR FORCE.

A military tattoo has been planned.
On Friday in Aurich there was an illustration of the bond between the town, the Bundeswehr and the departing radar airmen.

Caption for main picture: The Bundeswehr left nothing to chance: the Display Battalion practices the large military tattoo meticulously whilst it is still daylight.

Caption for left lower picture: Display day in the marketplace, here an ambulance.
The figure in red looks like the lovely German nurse who "warmed up" the web master in the back of the featured ambulance after he got too cold watching the tattoo that evening!

Caption for lower right picture: General William Ploeger talking to old Aurichiens.

Caption for upper right picture: Chalk on the floor: to here and no further.   (Thanks to Joachim Linke.)
