MAJOR.
M257BZ.     1 NOVEMBER 1956      CAT.5    Flying Officer J.E. Pigdon
of 93 Squadron, while on instruments, collided with an 11 ton foam
tender on the peri-track.   Extract from the pilots report ...." The bastard
was going faster than he said he was, it took him 60 yards to stop
actually it was a perfect head on ¼ only I didn't have the third plane
in which to manoeuvre."

COMMENT     :    Like/motor accidents this appears to have been a head-on
collision between two stationary vehicles both on their own side of
the road.    Eric did jolly well out of this collecting about twice
the actual value of the car from the insuramnce company.   To all but
Eric the car appears to be little more of a wreck than it was before.
The pilot is to be interviewed by his St.t..n C.mm.nd.r.
