Bill Mitchell climbing into his brand new Sabre - probably soon after 93 Sqn was re-equipped in March 1954.   Eric Pigdon adds it is interesting in that Bill is wearing his parachute as it was always in the cockpit and that he is not wearing his newly issued (flared top) Sabre Boots.   On the Sabre conversion course at Wildenrath we were issued with new flying suits (separate tops and bottoms which were winter grade and we normally wore the top as a flying jacket though this was about April/May time so was warm enough without it).   Bone domes with separate visors and new Sabre oxygen masks.
(Thanks to Bill Mitchell.)
