Ooops! 93 Sqn Convoy mishap on the way back from Wahn returning from Exercise Coronet 1Aug53.   This lorry had some of the lads in the back along with trolley accumulators (acid) and was towing a generator trailer.   Luckily no one was seriously hurt.   Note the vehicle number on the driver's cab door.
Ken Sambrooks reports that he was one of those in the back - along with some drop tanks as well - and that this survivor is Ginger.   Tony Hutley also remembers this incident and tells us: "We grabbed a Scythe off a german farmhand in a nearby field and cut away the canvas to get at our lads trapped under some of the accumulators that were leaking down on them.   Luckily there was some netting which had cushioned the blow.   We got them out and I travelled back with them in the ambulance to the hospital at Jever."   (Click to see F540 Report.)   (Thanks to Lofty Hope.)
