Sabre Mk.4 XB940 arrived on 4 Sqn on Wed 7Apr54 and crashed on 22Jun54.   Fg Off Gray lost contact with formation in haze and attempted to return to Jever.   Low fuel state (due to hostile homing signal) caused diversion to Hamburg, force-landed on an autobahn 8 miles east of Hamburg.
