Postcard of Wahn presumably purchased during a 118 Squadron detachment to Wahn - probably for Exercise Battle Royal held from 22-28th September 1954.   It is interesting that the 4 Sqn photograph taken the year before on Exercise Coronet claims to be on the top of the civilian airport building, which is presumably the one on the lower left.   It looks as though there is seating on its roof.   However, the picture appears to have been taken in the restaurant on the lower right.   (Click to compare)   Thanks to research by Norman Giffin, the Comet in the top picture is the first civilian jet transport to land at Wahn, now Cologne/Bonn international airport.   It is interesting that it is a BOAC Comet and not BEA.   (Thanks to Dinger Bell.)
