Sabre Mk.IV (F-86E) aircraft of No. 112 Squadron - about Jul54.   The first aircraft is XB920 K and the 2nd one in the line is XB946 R which was delivered to the Squadron on Tue 6 Apr 1954 when at Bruggen.   These were the "hard" leading edge "6-3" wing Sabres which started to be delivered the previous month.  These replaced the original slatted leading edge Sabres which were largely moved to 93 Sqn.   There is no date given to this photograph but it appears to have the first "Shark's Teeth" markings of a blue-outlined mouth with white teeth and red infill.   It was probably soon after the initial painting was done in July 1954 as eventually a white eye with mid-blue pupil was applied on either side of the forward fuselage just beneath the windshield.   There appears to be no eye or teeth on the Sabres other than XB920 K.   XB946 suffered Cat 4R damage on Thu 3 May 1956 and was returned to Aviation Traders at Stansted.
